The State of Oklahoma has carried out the execution of Scott Eizember.Ā He was put to death this morning for the 2003 murders of A-J and Patsy Cantrell.Ā Eizember's defense team filed a lawsuit earlier this week claiming his religious freedom was being violated because his spiritual adviser was not allowed to be in execution chamber with him.Ā The Oklahoma Department of Corrections agreed, and gave the Reverend Jeff Hood permission to accompany Eizember during his execution.
