Bixby Fourth Grader Dies After Being Hit By Car

Bixby Public Schools have released the identity of a fourth grader who died after being hit by a car last night. The accident happened in the area of 169th Street and U.S. Highway 64.

Bixby Public Schools Superintendent Rob Miller sent out a statement to BPS families saying the child who died was a fourth grader at Central Intermediate.

Miller said Conner Rineheart was crossing the street with friends when he was struck by a car. He was pronounced dead at a Tulsa hospital.

Bixby schools sent the following message to parents and staff in the district:

BPS Families,

Our school family has learned of some very tragic news. Yesterday evening, one of our students, Conner Rineheart, a fourth grader at Central Intermediate, was killed in an accident as he was crossing the street with friends.

The Rineheart family has several children who attend Bixby Schools as well as others who have recently graduated. The district is prepared to provide support for Conner’s siblings and any students or staff who may need help processing this very difficult news.
