Tulsa Public Schools is moving forward with new leadership. School board members voted yesterday to appoint Dr. Ebony Johnson as interim superintendent and approve the resignation of current Superintendent Dr. Deborah Gist. Gist announced this week that she will resign effective September 15th. The moves come as the state's education superintendent noted that the Tulsa Public Schools' accreditation is on the line and accused Gist and other school district officials of mismanaging funds and failing to improve student outcomes.
