Bartlesville Residents Survey Tornado Damage

A tornado ripped through Bartlesville causing widespread damage.

Washington County Emergency Management Director of Operations Kary Cox said the most significant damage was in the Southwest and Northeast side of town.

Damage was reported at the Hampton Inn where some guests had to be rescued. Many homes and businesses also sustained damage in the storm. Bartlesville schools canceled classes on Tuesday due to the storm.

Support is being offered to those who were impacted by the storm.


The city of Bartlesville will be collecting tree debris at the rodeo arena west of town on Highway 60 between the hours of 7am and 4pm. TREE DEBRIS ONLY. They will also be collecting tree debris at the curb beginning early next week. Debris on the curb MUST be less than 6 feet in length.


The B the Light Mission at 219 N. Virginia Ave. is being offered as a place to seek shelter.


Emergency feeding: Spirit Church will be set up in the Bartlesville High School parking lot (Hillcrest side) feeding those affected by the tornado. Hours are 11:30am to 1:30pm and 4:30pm to 6:30pm.

The Salvation Army has set up a mobile unit at Wilson Elementary School to provide meals.

Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief:

Those interested in making tax-deductible contributions to help storm victims and relief efforts can go If you or a loved one suffered storm damage, you can request assistance on the Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief website.

Veterans Disaster Assistance:

Veterans impacted by the recent storms may be eligible for an Oklahoma Department of Veteran Affairs Emergency Assistance Grant.

Residents are asked to report damages to their property.

The Oklahoma Insurance Department (OID) provides guidance for the insurance claims process, and consumer inquiries and assistance if a claim is not been handled appropriately.
