Mid-Del Public Schools is repaying more than $500,000 in federal COVID-19 relief funds. The funding was spent on athletic fields, and State Superintendent Ryan Walters called it a blatant misuse of federal tax dollars. The Oklahoma State Department of Education says the district spent 588-thousand-dollars on athletic lawn services. Mid-Del schools received over 12 million dollars from the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act.
