Stitt No Longer Attending Budget Meetings With Legislators

Governor Stitt is no longer attending budget talks with House and Senate leaders, as they try to hash out a state budget with just two weeks left in the regular session.

"I was there I think the first two or three budget meetings, but going line by line increasing spending, I don't know how much clearer I can be," said Stitt.

At his weekly news conference today, held in Tulsa, Stitt said he wants a 'flat' budget and a cut in the state income tax. He said lawmakers think government can spend money better than Oklahomans and he disagrees with that fundamentally.
