Members of Oklahoma's congressional delegation call President Biden's asylum action political. The President says his order lets him restrict asylum requests and says he's taking executive action to shut down the southern border. Senator James Lankford calls Biden's order insufficient and politically timed.

Senator Markwayne Mullin called it an executive action gimmick 5 months before an unfavorable election, calling it too little, too late. "The American people see right through it," said Mullin.

Congresswoman Stephanie Bice says the President's order is too little, too late.

Congressman Tom Cole said, "President Biden’s “border crackdown” is not enough, as it does nothing to end Catch-and-Release, nothing to reinstate Remain in Mexico, and nothing deport the massive surges of illegal migrants who have already poured into our nation."
