The Astros avoided being swept by the Oakland A's with an 8-1 win at the Oakland Coliseum. Houston led by three entering the seventh before putting the game away with a four-run frame. Chas McCormick homered in the victory, Jose Altuve went three-for-five with two RBI. Hunter Brown earned his ninth win after striking out eight and allowing one run on eight hits in six innings. The Astros snapped a three-game losing skid and sit atop the AL West at 53-and-49. They return home to host the Los Angeles Dodgers tomorrow night. Left-hander Framber Valdez will start opposite LA righty Gavin Stone.
